Re: Race Calendar
I have looked at the Baltimore marathon, the only problem is that it is on a Saturday morning. That would be hard to get to since we have classes on friday. Also, it says we need to pick up our race packet by friday at 9pm. There is no race day pick up.
If it wasn't for this I would be all for running this marathon.

Re: Race Calendar
I know the Peachtree City 5/15K is on the horizon for many of you. And I've heard something about some habitat for humanities run, but I have know idea when or what that's all about. If anyone is interested in doing the US 10K Classic (aka 'That Publix Race'), I think I'm going to sign up:
Destination: Cumberland Mall
Distance: 10K
Date: 9/1 - Labor Day
Damage: $32
Oh, it ends at some water park. And Jordin Sparks will be at the finish line!...who the heck is Jordin Sparks?

Re: Race Calendar
Per keith's question about marathons within driving distance, I saw some advertisements today for the Outer Banks marathon(I'm on vacation there right now) in early November. It said it's a Boston qualifier course and is relatively flat, plus it's by the beach. I don't know much more about it but it's a suggestion.

Re: Race Calendar
The Outer Banks marathon has been considered but for those of us (mainly due to Weir) doing the one marathon per state thing, we want to do the Grandfather Mountain Marathon for NC. I'm not saying others can't do it, but just fyi this is what has been discussed in the past.

Re: Race Calendar
Alright it was just something i came upon while running today. What fall marathon are we leaning towards coming up? Since this would be my first marathon I'd much prefer to do one that we get most of us to run at so I can have people to try and run with along the way since I'll have little idea what I'm doing.

Re: Race Calendar
I think Kiawah Island is definite for most (myself included).
12/7/08, somewhere in S.C.
These other courses (B'more, Denver, Outer Banks, etc.) are just random ones that one or two people are considering (myself possibly included). Until somebody actually up and registers for one, I will continue to loosely consider them for this fall. But until then I plan on getting in at least 2 halfs, and a few 10Ks in prep for Kiawah - it seems to have worked for me earlier this year.
And its good to see that you've decided to go 'the distance.' This semester should be fun.

Re: Race Calendar
My brother is doing the Philly Full Marathon in November. I'm considering possibly no marathon this fall, along with Philly, Hartford, Richmond, or Atlanta.
It depends on what day of the week it is...
