Weekend Long Runs
This thread is for those of you who want to do long runs over the upcoming weekends. We all know how boring 18+ miles can be when you're goin' it alone. Feel free to post routes, meeting times, etc. For example...
This Saturday, 3/22, I'm goin to Silver Comet around 8:30AM (starting from Mile 0 at ~9AM). The goal is 20, but if people want to do less/more, it doesn't matter b/c it's out and back. Respond b4 7PM today if you are in, and I can either pick you up in route or meet you on campus.

Re: Weekend Long Runs
I'm in for silver comet tomorrow (actually it's 3/22). I'm only going to do 14-16 though since I still should be recovering from the marathon. I'll be at the GLC so after everyone has replied, let me know when I should be outside.

Re: Weekend Long Runs
I'm in. I'll probably be even shorter 12-14.
And I'm going out for a piedmont park run ~5:30/5:45 today.

Re: Weekend Long Runs
I'll be downstairs in the GLC at 5:45pm assuming I don't get hit with ridiculous traffic.

Re: Weekend Long Runs
This Sunday (3/30) I am planning on running a 20 mile run. Here is the route that I am suggesting: http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/ga/atlanta/986255264
This route runs along with the ING marathon for about 13 miles. We are not running across the start or the finish so I don't think there will be any problem.
I am thinking that we should meet near Boddy Dodd football stadium at the corner of North Avenue and Techwood. Lets meet at 7:30 am. This way we will meet up with the marathon at a good time.
Post here if you are planning on running and if there is anything you want to change.
-Chris

Re: Weekend Long Runs
I will most likely be there, I might not do the full 20 though, it depends on how I'm feeling that morning

Re: Weekend Long Runs
Quite early, but I'm up for the challenge. I guess that means no crazy parties on Saturday night ... this marathon training really bites.

Re: Weekend Long Runs
I believe stone mountain is the venue for long runs this weekend. I also think we're leaving campus around 8am Sunday (4/6). Stone Moutain offers 5 and 7 mile loops. If you're definitely going, post so we can include you in the carpool. Logistics still need to be discussed and finalized so stay tuned for the final update.
